About this product
This is the mug on the rock in our pictures. Koppie Works makes it in South Africa from steel coated in glass enamel, fired hard and finished with a rolled rim. It holds a full 350 ml plunger pour, weighs very little and lasts for years of camping trips.
Details
- Capacity: 350 ml, filled to the rim
- Colours: cream, rust, navy or charcoal, each with a contrasting rim and the klipspringer printed on the side
- Materials: enamel on steel; a rolled rim
- Dimensions: about 8 cm tall and 9 cm across, about 12 cm wide with the handle
- In the box: one mug
- Care: hand wash it in warm, soapy water. Not for the microwave. A hard knock on a rock can chip the enamel; a chip on the outside does not affect the mug, but keep it dry so the steel underneath does not rust.
Why we like it
- It does not break when it falls off the tailgate.
- The handle stays cool enough to hold, even with a fresh pour.
- The four colours stack well on a shelf, and each one has its own photo.
Enamel is a thin layer of glass, so the mug can get hot in your hand when it is full. Let a just-boiled cup rest a minute before you hold it by the body.
Two of them in rust come in the Camp Coffee Set, with a 1 litre French press and a bag of Sundowner Dark Roast.
