Ridgeline Home Espresso Machine

This is a machine for learning espresso properly. It has one boiler, which you switch between brewing and steaming, and a PID controller that holds the brew temperature to within a degree. The 58 mm group is the same size as a café machine, so baskets, tampers and tools fit.

Details

• Boiler: a single stainless steel boiler, for brewing or steaming in turn
• Temperature: PID control, set from 88 to 96 °C on the front display
• Group: 58 mm, with a commercial-size portafilter
• Steam wand: stainless steel, on a ball joint
• Water tank: 2 L, removable, filled from the top
• Power: 230 V, 1 400 W, with a South African three-pin plug
• Materials: a brushed stainless steel or black powder-coated steel body
• Dimensions: about 34 cm tall, 26 cm wide and 38 cm deep
• Weight: 12.4 kg
• In the box: the machine, a 58 mm portafilter, single and double baskets, a blind basket for back-flushing, a steel milk jug and a measuring spoon
• Care: back-flush with a cleaning tablet once a week and descale every two months in hard-water areas

Getting started

1. Fill the tank and switch on; it is ready in about eight minutes.
2. Dose 18 g of coffee ground for espresso into the double basket, level it and tamp it.
3. Pull about 36 g of espresso in 25 to 30 seconds.
4. Switch to steam, wait for the light, and purge the wand before you steam.

There is no tamper in the box, so pair it with our 58 mm Tamper and distribution set. It ships as a heavy parcel, double-boxed.
